STATEMENT OF FAITH: The membership, programs, and activities of the Midwest Word Pastors Association are in agreement with and based upon the following beliefs:
- The Bible is the mind of Christ; both Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, and are the revelation of God to man. (2 Tim. 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20,21)
- There is one true God, Creator of all things and Redeemer of mankind, who is infinitely perfect and eternally manifested as a triune Being, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Gen. 1:1; Is. 43:10-11; Matt. 28:19)
- The reality of Satan and his present control over unregenerate man. (2 Cor. 4:3-4, Eph. 2:2-3)
- The Deity of Our Lord Jesus Christ:
- The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God who shares in the deity of God. (Matt. 1:23)
- He is also truly man who was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. (Luke 1:31-35)
- We believe in His miracles and his sinless life. (Acts 10:38, Heb. 7:26, 1 Peter 2:22)
- He died on the cross as a sacrifice for sin, arose bodily from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and is presently at the right Hand of the Father as our High Priest and Advocate. (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 1:3, Heb. 4:14; John 2:19-22, Luke 24:38-39)
- The personal, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ in power and glory as Lord of lords and Kings of kings to establish His Kingdom and millennial reign upon the earth. (Matt. 24:30, Rev. 1:7)
- The Fall of man and his lost estate. (Gen. 1:26-27, 2:17; Rom. 5:12-19)
- The reconciliation of man to God by the substitutionary death and shed blood of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (2 Cor. 5:21; Heb. 9:22)
- Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. This salvation and spiritual rebirth is obtained by regeneration of the Holy Spirit, not by works. (Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5, John 3:3, Rom. 10:9-10, Eph. 2:8-9)
- The Church – The Body of Christ. The true Church is composed of all those who have been born again (Heb. 12:23).
- The Lord Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church and the only mediator between God and man. (1 Tim. 2:5)
- The resurrection of believers unto everlasting life and blessing in Heaven, and the resurrection of unbelievers unto everlasting punishment in the torments of Hell. (1 Thes. 4:13-15, Rev. 20:11-15)
- The present supernatural work of the Holy Spirit, who bestows the spiritual gifts recorded in 1 Cor. 12:1-31.(Mark 16:15-20)
